Dan Thompson, Dip.Ac Dip.BSS UKomPP, qualified with distinctions in acupuncture at the International Bodyharmonics School, under the tutelage of renouned western expert and governmental advisor on acupuncture, Maria Mercati. Dan is a member of UKOM (United Kingdom Oriental Medicine) register of practitioners and Shiatsu Society. As a registered member your acupuncturist adheres to a strict code of safe practice which demands stringent standards of hygiene.
Dan has been interested in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) for several years. His background is IT, however his passion has always been Chinese Medicine and he would love to make the community more aware of the effectiveness of applied Chinese medicine through bodywork and Acupuncture. Dan is especially interested in structural problems and has worked with the Proteus Syndrome Foundation UK, to assist in treating problems caused by Proteus Syndrome.
Acupuncture has been used for healing for some 3,000 years in the Far East. The human body may appear solid, but we are mainly vibrating molecules of energy. This intrinsic energy is called Qi in Chinese medicine.
Acupuncture is the insertion of solid disposable needles into accurate, specific acu-points along the energy channels to systematically balance and harmonize the flow and functions of the Qi of the human body. This is fundamental to the practice of acupuncture in Chinese Medicine for maintenance of health, treatment or disease prevention.
Unfortunately, due to the recent Advertising Standards Authority ruling, we are not allowed to make claims or publish positive customer testimonials on our website about conditions which may have appeared to have been eased by an acupuncture treatment unless we can produce relevant medical studies to substantiate this.
