Alison qualified in Anatomy, Physiology and Body Massage with ITEC (International Therapist’s Examination Council) in 2002, initially working as a Swedish Massage Therapist. The next year she qualified as an ITEC Reflexologist and swiftly followed this (through the IIHHT (International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies)) with Indian Head Massage. She has continued to train and has increased her skillset to include Table Thai Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Maternity Reflexology and Reiki, offering an holistic service to her clients. Alison is a longstanding member of the Complementary Therapist’s Association.

Over the years she has developed a unique massage rhythm using both hands-on and hands-free bodywork methods to offer a hypnotic and relaxation-inducing experience for her clients. Stress and tension are addressed and released and the revitalising results speak for themselves.
With the experience of advanced bodywork workshops, having received training from some of the best tutors in the industry, and with years of hands-on experience she has successfully alleviated many musculo-skeletal aches and pains – from chronic neck, back and shoulder pains to sciatica, or simply providing relief from stress-related tensions. Alison tailors her therapy sessions to fit the client’s specific needs or health condition/s and where necessary liaises with other health specialists using an holistic, person-centred approach to health and wellbeing.

Deep Tissue Massage and Sports Massage techniques are available for those people who wish to maintain optimal soft tissue condition – people whose muscles suffer from regular punishment or over-exertion, whether by holding tension in one position for too long (the sedentary or office worker) or due to repetitive strain injury (RSI) (job or sports-related). For regular sports enthusiasts, pre- and post-event sports massage and remedial soft tissue techniques are available which aim to prevent microtraumas and soft tissue tears, and address scar tissue build-up, encouraging faster recovery times in order to get people back to their favourite sports that bit sooner, and with less danger of repeat injuries.

For stress and general upper body discomforts, rejuvenating and relaxing Indian Head Massage provides ideal relief, soothing facial and jaw muscles and easing sinus pressure and tension headaches.

Likewise Reflexology can be a truly beneficial stress-buster for all ages, and which can improve circulation, immune system function, sleep pattern and a variety of other health concerns. It also has the benefit of being supportive in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy.

As opposed to a relaxation treatment (Body Massage, Table Thai, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology or Reiki), a Deep Tissue Sports Massage is more powerful and can sometimes utilise uncomfortable techniques designed to restore tissues to their optimal functional state and help to prevent future injuries. This massage work may focus for longer on one specific area if appropriate.
