Dan Thompson, Dip.Ac Dip.BSS UKomPP, qualifed as a Shiatsu Practitioner at the end of 2006 with the British School of Shiatsu-Do. Dan is a member of UKOM (United Kingdom Oriental Medicine) register of practitioners and Shiatsu Society.

Dan has been interested in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) for several years. His background is IT, however his passion has always been Chinese Medicine and he would love to make the community more aware of the effectiveness of applied Chinese medicine through bodywork and Acupuncture.

Dan has also attended Saul Goodman’s Shin Tai course which allows him to connect with the body’s fascial net along with his Shiatsu techniques. He has used this succesfully within his bodywork practice and has obtained amazing results when working with Stuctural Correction complaints.

Shiatsu is a traditional Oriental form of Bodywork Therapy that utilises physical manipulation to help harmonise the Mind, Body and Spirit.

It merges Western anatomy and physiology knowledge with ancient Oriental medical philosophy and is applied by using various techniques, such as pressure, holding and stretching. If appropriate, more dynamic rotations of the joints and stretching of the limbs may be needed to ease out stiffness and stimulate the body’s fascial net and energetic functions.

Shiatsu stimulates the body’s own healing process. Chi flows throughout the body in a series of channels called meridians. For many different reasons Chi can stop flowing freely, which can cause signs
and symptoms of ill health.

Fascia, Meridians and Acupoints are used to restore vitality, flexibility and organ function.
