Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that aims to release tension in the deeper layers of muscle tissue through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibers of the muscles, tendons and fascia.

Deep Tissue Massage and Sports Massages are available for those people who wish to maintain optimal soft tissue condition – people whose muscles suffer from regular punishment or over-exertion, whether by holding tension in one position for too long (the sedentary or office worker) or due to repetitive strain injury (RSI) (job or sports-related).

For regular sports enthusiasts, pre- and post-event sports massage and remedial soft tissue techniques are available which aim to prevent microtraumas and soft tissue tears, and address scar tissue build-up, encouraging faster recovery times in order to get people back to their favourite sports that bit sooner, and with less danger of repeat injuries.

As opposed to a relaxation treatment (Body Massage, Table Thai, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology or Reiki), a Deep Tissue Sports Massage is more powerful and can sometimes utilise uncomfortable techniques designed to restore tissues to their optimal functional state and help to prevent future injuries. The massage work may focus for longer on one specific area if appropriate.
