This class is suitable for all students of yoga. Ruth will be teaching this as a yoga class with an easy mix of information and practice with the focus of looking after your back with Yoga.

*You, Your Joints and Yoga*
This popular day is designed for both yoga teachers and interested yoga students. Short illustrated theory sessions are interspersed with yoga practice and experiential exploration of joint function. The morning focuses on the normal structure and functioning of the major joints, including the importance of maintaining the full, pain-free range of movement.

The afternoon sessions consider the joint problems that commonly occur, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, “frozen shoulder” and injuries. Helpful ways of working with these problems are explored. Modifications of asana practice for those with hip or knee replacements are discussed, and there is plenty of time for questions.

Ruth’s easy teaching style avoids “jargon” terms, and together with the use of models and illustrations makes the theory sessions accessible and directly relevant to the class situation. After the day a detailed handout is available on request by e mail or post.
